SPOKANE --- The first round of the Northwest Conference Spring Classic was suspended Saturday evening after lightening in the area forced officials to postpone day one.  The No. 1-ranked George Fox women's golf team is currently in first after play was suspended.


Four of the five Bruins were able to close out their round before thunderstorms and lightening put a stop to play. The Bruins lead the field of nine teams by five strokes, as the Bruins recorded a 300 team score on the day.

Kristin Elich leads the field of 43 golfers with a two-under-par 70. Janelle Decker is in third with a two-over-par 74, while Rachel Drgastin is tied for seventh with a five-over-par 77. Kayle Hunn is T-11th with a 79 and Alexandria McMenamin was forced to end her day early on the 18th green.

What Comes Next:

The Bruins will resume action from Saturday's round at 7:30 am on Sunday. The second round will kick off at 9:02 am.
