Ray and Alfaro Named NWC Student-Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO --- For the third straight week, the George Fox women's lacrosse team has swept the Northwest Conference Offense and Defense Student-Athletes of the Week award, as Isabella Alfaro and Lois Ray were named.

Alfaro, a freshman midfielder from Yorba Linda, California, earns her first weekly honor from the conference office. She was all over the place for the Bruins during their 2-0 week against Puget Sound and Willamette. She caused a team-high six turnovers, won seven draw controls, grabbed three ground balls, while also scoring 10 points.

Ray, a senior midfielder from Springfield, Oregon, records her second straight weekly honor from the conference office. She helped the Bruins keep their undefeated record alive in conference play with big wins over the Loggers and the Bearcats. She finished with a team-high 13 points and nine goals. She also dished out four assists, won four draw controls, caused two turnovers, and shot 76.5 percent on goal.

The Bruins will host Concordia Wisconsin for a nonconference matchup on Wednesday, March 20, at 6:30 pm.
