NEWBERG --- George Fox women's lacrosse welcomed Pacific (Ore.) to the Austin Sports Complex for a Northwest Conference test and came away with a shutout win over the Boxers, 19-0.
A free position goal scored by Andrea Garcia-Milla was quickly followed by a score from Jennifer Burke on an assist by Ray for a 4-0 lead in less than two minutes of gameplay. Garcia-Milla added the Bruins' fifth goal less than a minute later for a 5-0 lead, and at that point the rout was officially on.
Meredith Teel scored unassisted, Ray got into the action with two goals in the opening half, and Strickland added four more by the halftime intermission to help the Bruins build a 15-0 lead at the break.
With the result well in hand, the Bruins' offense controlled the tempo and possessed the ball on its own end for the majority of the second half. Garcia-Milla added two goals in the second half, Burke found the back of the net with help from Strickland, and Ray scored and assisted on a goal by Faust to give the Bruins a 19-0 win over the Boxers.
Strickland and Garcia-Milla scored five goals apiece for the Bruins, while Burke and Ray joined their teammates with three goals apiece as the other Bruins to notch hat tricks. Ella Rand pitched a shutout with two saves against the only two shots she faced in goal.
