WALLA WALLA, Wash. --- The George Fox women's soccer team traveled to Washington Saturday to take on Whitman College, losing the Northwest Conference matchup, 1-0.

Bruin forward Hannah Harder came out aggressive with two shots early in the first half coming in the 8th and 10th minutes. It was Whitman who struck first, however, with a goal in the 11th minute of play.

The Bruins' offense pressed the Whitman defense throughout the first 45, getting off a total of eight shots to Whitman's five and forcing the goalie to save three. The score remained 1-0 as the final minutes ran down.

The Bruins were unable to narrow the deficit in the second half despite a superior offensive performance, more than doubling the total shots of Whitman (11-5) and forcing the goalie to make two saves.

Harder had two chances to score in the final minutes of the game, but both shots narrowly missed.

Top Performers:
A number of people contributed to the whopping 19 total shots that George Fox was able to get off in this one, but Harder and Emma Weme led with six and four shots respectively.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins continue their Washington road trip in Spokane tomorrow with a game against the Whitworth Pirates. Kickoff is set for 11:00am.
