Bruins Face Pirates in Final Trip to Washington

SPOKANE, Wash. --- The George Fox women's soccer team continued their road trip in Washington on Sunday with a conference matchup against the Whitworth Pirates, losing a tough one, 2-0.

The Pirates managed to strike first with a goal in the 9th minute of action, setting a one-point deficit early on.  

The Bruins came back aggressive in the remainder of the first half with seven subsequent shots (they had eight total in the first 45) but were unable to close the gap before the teams entered the half.

The Bruin offense had an opportunity to score at the outset of the second half as they had a shot blocked and a shot saved by the goalie in the 46th minute of play.

Sophomore forward Savannah Moisan had a chance to even the score in the 76th minute for the Bruins, but the shot was blocked by the Pirate defense.

Whitworth scored again late in the game, widening the gap to 2-0.

Top Performers:
Forwards Hannah Harder and Moisan led the Bruin offense, chipping in three shots apiece. Goalkeeper Morgan Bars played well in goal today, tallying four saves through 90 minutes.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins host the Lutes of Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, November 5th in the last home game of the season. Kickoff is set for 11:00am.
