Bruins Start Strong at Willamette Valley Tournament

SALEM --- The George Fox women's tennis team started its 2018 campaign at the Willamette Valley Four-Way Tournament hosted by Willamette University on Sept. 15-16.

Recap:

In doubles action, Taylor Morris and Lily Elmer did well coming out of Flight #4, winning both of their matches. In the first meeting, Morris/Elmer beat Hannah Andres and Rachel Kong of Willamette, 8-3. With a break in between, the women were back at again with a match against Willamette's Sylvia Marr and Alyssa Oberg. The Bruins beat the pair, 8-5.

George Fox went 4-2 over the weekend in doubles play.

The Bruins shined when it came to singles play, as Megan Wilks, Elmer and Morris went undefeated in their flights. The trio combined for a 6-0 finish in singles play. Overall, the Bruins finished 8-6 in singles play.

What Comes Next:

The Bruins will now gear up for the Fall ITA's hosted in McMinnville, Oregon, Sept. 28-30.
