ORLANDO --- The George Fox women's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip with a 7-2 win on Tuesday, as the Bruins took down Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the USTA National Campus.
The Bruins were in full force in doubles action, as Sophia Lawrence and Laney Search won their match the No. 1 spot and Megan Wilks and Lily Elmer came out on top at the No. 3 spot. Taylor Morris and Alyssa Byde nearly pulled off the doubles sweep for the Bruins at the No 2 spot but fell in a close 8-6 match.
With the 2-1 lead after doubles play, the Bruins kept their foot on the gas taking five of the six points in singles play.
Lawrence won at the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-1, while both Danielle Brown and Morris mirrored each other's scores with 6-2, 6-2, victories at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Search came away with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No. 2 spot and Emily Brink won her match at the No. 6 spot, 6-1, 6-2.
"It was a great trip for our team," said head coach Rick Cruz. "We played a lot of competitive teams and were able to get everyone into the matches. We ended on a strong win to finish off the trip as we head back into conference play."
What It Means:
The Bruins are now 5-11 on the season.

The Bruins will face Lewis & Clark on Sunday, April 7, at 11 am to get back into the swing of Northwest Conference play.
