WALLA WALLA --- The George Fox women's volleyball team finished its final Washington road trip of 2018 on Saturday, Oct. 20, with a match at Whitman. The Bruins fought hard but still fell in straight sets.

The Bruins jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in set one, but Whitman climbed back into the set to tie it at 10-10. It stayed close until a 19-19 tie broke in the direction of the Whitman squad, ending in a 25-20 win for home team.

Whitman kept the momentum in the early stages of set two as they built a 15-10 lead. A 9-3 run gave the Bruins a late lead, but Whitman had an answer to the Bruins' efforts and finished the second set with a 25-23 win.

Another back-and-forth set began with an 11-8 lead for Whitman, but the Bruins kept pace until the final moments of the match. A 21-20 lead for Whitman was enough of an edge for the home team to pull out another 25-23 win to complete the sweep.
