NEWBERG --- The George Fox women's volleyball team continued on its tear through the second half of Northwest Conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Willamette on Saturday, Oct. 26, as part of Family Weekend.

The two teams traded sideouts to open the match and stayed neck and early with an 8-8 tie before George Fox began to pull away. Kills from Ashtyn Butler and Bailey LeBreton helped create separation and a pair of kills from Paige O'Rear ended the set with a 25-20 final score.

The two sides followed a similar script in set two as the Bruins worked to break an early stalemate with kills by Liv Alexander and O'Rear. Skylar Paul checked in to serve midway through the match and kept the Bearcats off balance, allowing O'Rear and LeBreton to wreak havoc at the net and pull away midway through the second set. A block by LeBreton and Laney Search and a handful of kills from LeBreton finished the set after a 25-19 final score.

With a sweep in sight, the Bruins pulled away early in set three with a 7-3 advantage. The Bearcats did their best to claw back into the set, but the Bruins never trailed in the third stanza and cruised to a sweep after a 25-20 final sealed the match in three.
