 SALEM, Ore. --- George Fox's cross-country teams ran in the Northwest Conference Championships on Saturday, hosted by Willamette University at Bush Park.

The men placed seventh; their final score was 164, with a team 8K time of 2:16:37. The women finished ninth, finishing with a score of 237 and a team 6K time of 2:04:51.

Hosts Willamette won both the men's and women's competitions.

Leading the men was senior Kody Tarbell, who ran a blistering 26:17, well enough for 8th, which qualified him for 2nd team All-Conference. Junior Bryant Quinn ran the Bruins' second-best time, turning in a 26:47 in 21st place.

"Both Kody and Bryant ran a solid race," said head coach Randy Dalzell. "Kody improved quite a bit from last year at the NWC Championships and he will look forward to running at Regionals."

Behind him was 43rd-place Cody Thompson at 27:35, just ahead of 50th-place Christian Parr at 27:51. Junior Alex Lull finished in 57th, freshman Colin Atchinson in 65th, and sophomore Zach Bibb in 69th.

Individually, senior Sarah Mackenzie paced the Bruins, ending the day in 37th place. She posted a 24:08 in the 6K, maintaining a 6:28 mile pace. Courtney Hochstetler was close behind, finishing in 51st with a 24:46. Taylor Suwa, Rachel Gibbs, and Kelly Toms all also had good showings, placing 57th, 74th, and 75th, respectively.

Nicole Fawver was just behind in 79th. Rounding out the Bruins were Raychel Clark, 81st; Rose Hernandez, 83rd; Caitlin Kereszturi, 84th; and Alyssa Turner, 85th.

Eligible Bruin runners will hit the track again on November 15th for the Northwest Conference Regional Meet.
