Chehalem Parks/Recreation Aquatic Center
The George Fox University swim team practices and competes at the recently renovated Chehalem Parks and Recreation Aquatic Center. A $19.9 million bond measure was passed by voters in 2014, and the project was completed in time for the start of intercollegiate swimming in 2018.
The Jim McMaster competition pool is an eight-lane pool with a 20-yard lined warm-up/cool-down area. The competition pool is same-depth across the competition length at six-feet, seven-inches in depth, with the stretch pool ranging from four feet to approximately five feet in depth. Pool-level gutters also help ensure a fast competition pool for the Bruins' home events. The north side of the pool has bleachers that seat about 300, and the facility timing system and scoreboard are by Daktronics. The competition pool has its own team/event entrance and vestibule as well as its own locker rooms and deck showers.
