Esports Arena
First completed in the summer of 2021, the Bruins' Esports Arena occupies a 2300-square foot space in Wheeler Sports Complex and features 30 competitor stations with state-of-the art MSI gaming towers and premium gaming chairs. The MSI towers feature an Intel I7 10th generation processor, 1TB SSD drives, 16gb ram, 3060RTX GeForce cards, and 650w power supplies and are paired with MSI 24" curved monitors, MSI mechanical keyboard and mouse, and MSI gaming headsets.
The arena lounge also includes Xbox X, PS5, and Nintendo Switch consoles paired with 75" screens that can be used for console gaming or in-arena spectator viewing for the Esport Twitch broadcasts.
The lounge area features stadium seating and couches for spectators and streaming spectator usage, and the arena is skinned with GFU Esports wall graphics. The facility also includes coaches' offices and a production booth that the Esports team uses to produce its Twitch streams for each match.
The program is home to over 8 competitive games titles such as:
Apex Legends, Chess, FIFA, League of Legends, Madden, NBA2k, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros, Tekken 8, &Â Valorant.
They stream on both youtube and twitch.tv and can be found on social media as GFU Esports.Â
