Box Score TACOMA, Wash. - Exploding for
four goals in the final four minutes, the Colorado College Tigers
turned a relatively-close game into a blowout for a 6-0 win over
the George Fox University Bruins in a non-conference men's
soccer match played at a neutral site Saturday afternoon here at
the University of Puget Sound's Baker Field.
The Tigers scored twice in the first half to establish control
of the contest. Sean Parham assisted on a goal by Matt
Fechter, who banked a shot off the far post from six yards out at
the 19:23 mark to make it 1-0. Two minutes later, the two
reversed role as Fechter fed Parham for a breakaway score.
Colorado College's defense took over from there, limiting
the Bruins to 13 shots in the game and only four on goal. The
score stayed close until Fechter notched his second goal of the
game at the 86:33 mark in the second half after a cross from Morgan
Wack. Parham added his second goal of the game, unassisted,
24 seconds later, before Ryan Huettel scored 29 seconds after
that, also unassisted. Wack passed to Huettel for another
score 10 seconds before the end of the game.
Brian Graf and Forrest Harowitz each worked a half for the
Colorado College shutout, Harowitz earning all four of the
Tigers' saves in the second half. Elliott Davis went
the distance in goal for the Bruins and had six saves to keep his
team in the game before the Tigers broke loose late, facing 32
shots in all and 12 on goal.
Colorado College doubled George Fox's corner kick
attempts, 8-4, and committed nine fouls to the Bruins'
seven.
