Box Score FOREST GROVE, Ore. --- George Fox University's men's soccer team closed out its 2014 season with a game that needed more than the 90 minute regulation given.
The Bruins took on the Boxers of Pacific in a very exciting game. GFU's defense was the strong point on the night holding the Boxers scoreless in the 90 minutes of play.
Both teams weren't able to produce too many shots in the first period as the Boxers fired off two and the Bruins recorded one.
The score was knotted at 0-0 going into the half.
The second period proved to be the toughest for the Bruins as the Boxers were able to tack on seven shots, but only two were on goal.
Both Ricardo Sotelo and Murray Noble split time in the net, but it was Murray who was the goalie in overtime when the Boxers scored in the 98th minute.
The goal came from a cross that was then flicked from two players and Matt Kimball finished off the volley putting the ball in the back of the net.
The Bruins fall to 2-16-1 on the season and 0-14 in the Northwest Conference, while the Boxers improve to 8-10-1 and 5-8-1 in conference play.
