NEWBERG, Ore. --- Connor Sigmon (Olympia, Wash./Tumwater High School) scored the lone goal for George Fox University, as the Bruins hosted the No. 11-ranked Pirates of Whitworth University in a Saturday afternoon conference match-up.

The Pirates (7-0-1, 2-0-1 NWC) were led by Micheal Ramos, who netted a hat-trick and recorded four assists on the day. Ramos fired off six shots with four on goal.

The Bruins (2-5-1, 0-3 NWC) highlight came late in the game after Miguel Lopez Ixta (Woodburn, Ore./Woodburn) crossed a ball inside the box that was gathered by Sigmon. Sigmon then made his move and put one past the Pirates' goalkeeper to put the Bruins on the scoreboard.

Arturo Olazaba (Vista, Calif./Rancho Buena Vista High School) led the Bruins with three shots, as George Fox recorded eight shots on the day. Ricardo Sotelo (Hermiston, Ore./Hermiston High School) received the start in the net and recorded seven saves, while allowing seven goals.

The Pirates beat the Bruins, 7-1.

George Fox will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon (Sept. 28) when they host Whitman College at 2:30p.m.
