NEWBERG, Ore. --- It was a wet and cold day out at Austin Sports Complex, but that didn't stop the goals from pouring in, as the Bruins hosted the Boxers of Pacific on senior day.

It wasn't exactly what the Bruins were hoping for after taking a two goal lead at the half, but the Boxers narrowly squeaked out a win in a 3-2 fashion. The Bruins first got on the board after a penalty kick was awarded, and senior Evan Conney scored his first goal of his senior season. The Bruins again went on a run late in the first half and Jose Becerra netted his sixth goal of the season in the 45th minute. The Boxers would not go down without a fight, as they scored in the 58th minute and the equalizer in the 82nd minute on a free kick. With momentum on their side, the Boxers used a nicely placed cross in the box to score the game-winner in the 84th minute.
Top Performers:
Both teams tallied 16 shots on the day and Becerra led the Bruins with four shots. Murray Noble got the nod on the day and recorded 90 minutes between the sticks with four saves.
What It Means:
The Bruins end their season with a 6-11-3 overall record and 3-8-3 in the Northwest Conference. They honored five seniors on the day and they are as follows: Evan Cooney, Austin Fish, Angelo Florez, Ulysus Torres and Josh Scarth.
