NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox men's soccer team hosted the Whits of Whitman College Sunday afternoon, as the Bruins played in a double overtime draw.

Recap:
The first half was a battle for possession, as neither team was able to settle in. Both teams had chances early, but weren't able to put those chances on frame. Both teams went into the half scoreless at 0-0.

The Whits came out aggressive in the start of the second, keeping the Bruins' defense on their toes. The shots came early and often, but goalkeeper Austin Burdick was in true form keeping each shot out of the net. The intensity picked up in the final minutes, as both teams looked for the game-winner. Shots were taken, but both teams headed into extra time.

Fans watched as the first extra time produced a back and forth game between both teams. Whitman came close to scoring off a free kick, but the ball found the crossbar and went out of bounds.

Whitman continued to push in the start of the second extra time, but Burdick was a vacuum for the Bruins collecting save after save. The Bruins went on the attack late in the final extra time, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Top Performers:
Burdick was the man of the match, recording 12 saves during his day. Dennis Zapata led the Bruins' offense with five shots.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will travel to Willamette on Oct. 22 and come back home on Oct. 23 for senior day against Linfield.
