Box Score TACOMA, Wash. --- The George Fox men's soccer team hosted Caltech in a neutral game Wednesday afternoon, as the Bruins recorded their first win of the season in 1-0 fashion.
Recap:
The Beavers led the way for most of the first half, out shooting the Bruins 11-6. Although the Beavers were in full force, Bruins' goalkeeper Austin Burdick was up to the task, recording four saves before halftime.
Both teams went into the break with score tied at 0-0.
George Fox wasted no time in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 47th minute. Bryce Towne setup Jorge Huaracha-Canchola for the game-winner after a nice move to sneak the ball in on the far side.
The Bruins' offense continued to be stellar, pouring in shot after shot in the final 45 minutes. The Bruins finished the game out shooting the Beavers 16-4 in the second half.
George Fox ended the game with 22 shots, while Caltech recorded 15.
Top Performers:
Huaracha-Canchola led the offense with one goal, while Sean Owens fired off a team-high five shots. Trevor Martin and Alejandro Saldana both combined for four shots apiece. Towne recorded three shots to go with his one assist.
What It Means:
With the win, the Bruins now stand at 1-3 on the season.

The Bruins will host Northwest Christian for their home opener Sunday, Sept. 10.
