FOREST GROVE --- The George Fox men's soccer team traveled to Pacific University to take on the Boxers in the last game of the season, losing a tough one, 2-0.
Recap:
The Boxers struck early, netting a goal in the seventh minute to take the lead at the beginning of the first half.
The Bruins created a handful of chances around the 34th minute. Jackson Keller took a shot which deflected off the crossbar, then Isaiah Carrillo collected the ball and took a shot which missed wide, then Keller took another shot which narrowly missed.
Pacific managed to earn a penalty kick at the very end of the first period, converting the set piece to go ahead by two.
George Fox was unable to equalize as the time ran into the half keeping the score at 2-0.
The Bruins came out aggressive in the second half, as Jared McInnes had a header shot which deflected off the woodwork in the 59th minute.
They were unable to find the back of the net late, dropping a tough one on the road to cap off the season.
Top Performers:
Keller paced the team with two shots and Trevor Martin finished with a shot on frame in the Bruins offensive effort.
What It Means:
The Bruins finish the 2018 season with a record of 1-9-4 in conference play and 2-12-4 overall.
