TACOMA --- The George Fox men's soccer team took on Pacific Lutheran on the road on Saturday, losing the Northwest Conference matchup 7-1.
Recap:
Moises Manon provided some early offense for the Bruins, taking shots in the 2nd and 5th minutes to put pressure on the Lutes' defense.
Pacific Lutheran struck twice in rapid succession, scoring two goals in the 11th and 12th minutes to take an early lead, 2-0.
The teams went back-and-forth through the remainder of the first half, although neither side was able to find the back of the net. Pacific Lutheran held a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Lutes went on an offensive tear in the second half, scoring five goals in the period.
The Bruins finally found pay dirt in the 90th minute. Senior defender Alex Barene slipped the goal past the opposing keeper to put George Fox on the board in the final minute.
Top Performers:
Barene scored the lone goal for the Bruins while Manon provided solid offensive pressure, tallying two shots.
What It Means:
The Bruins fall to 1-7-1 on the season and 0-4-1 in NWC play.
