TACOMA --- The George Fox men's soccer team continued their road trip in Washington on Sunday, losing to Puget Sound, 2-0.
Recap:
Both sides had chances on set pieces early on, as the Loggers and the Bruins each earned two corners in just over two minutes of game time around the 13-minute mark.
Moises Manon forced the opposing keeper to make a save in the 22nd minute, keeping the pressure on the opposition.
Although the Bruins hung with the Loggers through the first half (they both tallied seven shots), Puget Sound managed to net a late goal in the 45th minute to take a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Loggers earned a penalty kick in the 57th minute and had the chance to go up by two. Bruin keeper JD Ellis saved the attempt, but one of the Puget Sound players was able to tap in the rebound, giving the Loggers the 2-0 lead.
The Bruins had a chance to chip into the lead in the 87th minute, but the shot by William Rudd was saved by the opposing keeper.
Top Performers:
Bryce Towne, Cassen Chisholm and Rudd each tallied three shots in the Bruins' offensive effort.
What It Means:
The Bruins move to 0-5-1 in conference play after Sunday's game.
