NEWBERG, Ore. --- One week removed from nabbing their first NCAA Division I win in team history, the Bruins repeated the feat with a 4-3 win over the Seattle University Redhawks.

How It Happened

Fox kept its script intact from the win over Portland State by claiming the doubles point. Will Leach and Luke Lemaitre finished their matchup second with a win at number one doubles, 6-4, and Camden Camacho and Vahag Pashayan earned a marathon win, 7-5, at the number three doubles matchup.

In singles play, Fox earned another point towards their match score after Leach defeated his first flight singles opponent, 7-6 (4), 6-4. Seattle evened the match with a hard-fought win in the third and fourth singles matchups to tie the battle at 2-2, but Lemaitre won his singles matchup in the second flight, 6-4, 6-4. Seattle tied it once again with a three-set win in the fifth flight and once again, a crucial point came down to Camacho's sixth-flight singles matchup. Camacho won 6-3, 6-3, to earn the team win.

Coach's Thoughts

"I'm really proud of the effort from beginning to end from the guys today, and it was great to kick off having fans again for our home matches; I thought we had a great turnout," coach Jeff Cero said. "Will, Luke, and Camden really led the charge today, and the energy & support was excellent. We have a lot of work to do on the tennis side though. We are looking forward to playing Montana next week, and it should be a tough one. All in all, these are good matches to prepare us for the rest of our season."

What It Means

The Bruins are now 2-0 on the year with two NCAA DI wins on their ledger.
