NEWBERG, Ore. --- No. 16 George Fox hosted Linfield and was able to sit its two top players for a day off while also pulling off a team sweep of the Wildcats.
How It Happened
Coach Jeff Cero sat his top players, Will Leach and Luke Lemaitre, and the rest of the Bruins' lineup saw time on the courts playing up from their normal spots on the lineup card.
Rox Rogers and Ryan Olson played at court one in an 8-2 win and Vahag Pashayan paired with Cameron Camacho on court two to win, 8-0. Jackson Whittaker and Alle Banna won 8-2 on court three to finish the doubles sweep.
Doubles play took less than an hour and the Bruins moved just as swiftly through the singles courts. Rogers won 7-5, 6-2 playing up at court one, Luis Rojas won 6-1, 6-1 on court two, and Pashayan played up on court three with a nearly-flawless 6-1, 6-0 win.
Camacho moved up to no. 4 and was also almost perfect in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Banna won 6-3, 6-0 against the Wildcats' no. 5, and the Bruins got a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win on court six from Hunter Fujimori.
Coach's Thoughts
"We picked up where we left off yesterday," coach Cero said. "The younger guys stepped up and took care of business, and it was great to see Rox playing the one slot today and doing his thing."
What It Means
Fox improves to 11-5 overall and is 6-0 against NWC teams this year.
