TACOMA, Wash. -- The George Fox softball team was swept by the Pacific Lutheran Lutes, losing both games in the doubleheader for the second day in a row.
Game One
The Lutes' home runs hurt the Bruins in the day's first game, especially in the second inning, where PLU hit three home runs– including a grand slam– and scored eight runs. The Bruins didn't score until the top of the fifth, hitting two bombs of their own to make the game 10-4.
PLU added another run in the bottom half of the fifth to push their lead to seven, and Fox responded in the top of the seventh with another home run. They couldn't mount a comeback in the final innings, losing the first contest 11-5. The Bruins held the Lutes to 11 hits, but grand slam and home runs made it difficult to keep the score low.

Sydney Sandifer double to right field.Â

The Lutes scored four more in the fourth, blowing the game open and extending their lead to 7-3. Fox managed to get one more run across in the top of the fifth when
Reagan Medina hit an RBI single, but that would be their last run of the day as Fox went on to lose the second game 11-4.
