NEWBERG, Ore. -- The George Fox Men's soccer team locked in another amazing 5-0 win against Witworth on Sunday afternoon, improving even more in the Northwest Conference.
How It Happened
Unlike yesterday's game, each team struggled to score any goals for the majority of the first half. However, a strong fight was given by Fox as
Joshua Chang attempted a shot in the first ten minutes, while Whitworth panicked to keep the order. Chang attempted another shot, keeping the Pirates frustrated and their defenses on their toes. The Bruins were running out of time, but Conner Kong came in with the ball, passed it to
Isaac Williams who shot the first goal of the game into the lower left—the score being 1-0.
The Bruins only needed the first five minutes of the second half to gain dominion over the ball, attacking the Pirates powerfully, Kong passed the ball to freshman
Harrison Emert who scored a flawless goal, low left. Witworth gained light possession over the ball for a little bit, but the Bruins wouldn't take any more as Kong snatched the ball with another assist, for
Kellin Aguiar to shoot and score in low center.
The Pirates caught control for a while and woke the Bruins up after a few blocked shots, all until
Isaac Williams stole the ball, leaving Whitworth in the dust with another low center goal—4-0. Witworth was left frazzled, as Fox continued to crush them. With a little over ten minutes left in the game,
Mason Ayles made a goal in low right with an assist from
Kellin Aguiar, finalizing the score 5-0.
