Bruins Finish Season With 2-1 Win Over Linfield

NEWBERG, Ore. -- George Fox men's soccer won their final game of the season 2-1 against longtime rival Linfield.

How It Happened
In the Bruins attempt to start the first half strong, Joshua Chang took the challenge and ran with it scoring a goal for Fox in the first two minutes of the game. Chang dribbled down the right side of the field, continuing all the way to the endline, then proceeded to cut the ball back into the middle of the box, drilling the ball low and hard into the middle of the back of the net. The first half ended with Linfield having 11 shots up against George Fox's four.

The Bruins added another goal to the board in the 47th minute of the game with Eugene Peltier scoring. Chang received a pass from Peltier, dribbled into the middle, faked a stop and left the ball for Peltier to take over — giving him the opportunity to take a right footed shot into the left side of the goal. Linfield retaliated with a goal in the 51st minute of the game after receiving a penalty kick. The end score was 2-1 and the Bruins had 11 shots and Linfield had 19 shots. Goalkeeper Justin Huttinger had an incredible game having only one goal against and 11 saves.
