NEWBERG, Ore. --- After celebrating their five seniors, the George Fox women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 13-0 lead early in the second quarter en route to a dominant 22-1 victory over the Puget Sound Loggers in their final regular season game of the season.

It took the Bruins less than a minute to find the back of the net.

Ava Bluhm for her 51st goal of the season. Fox wasted no time finding their next goal when
Carleigh DeLapp found
Lana Davis to put the Bruins up 2-0. The Bruins scored a trio of goals in just under a minute, five minutes into the game.
Olivia Geyling scored twice, once from a free position shot and the other on an impressive drive;
Sasha Thayer found
Morgan Maxfield for her second goal of the game. After scoring seven more goals, the Bruins would take a 12-0 lead into the second quarter.
Marena Tharpe secured the draw to open the second quarter, shortly after Davis found Abraham for the Bruins' 13th goal. A few minutes later, the Loggers would find their first and only goal in the game when Cat Schilli scored her 49th goal of the season. Abraham scored off a Tharpe draw control in a replay of her earlier goal. This time, it was Geyling finding Abraham. George Fox pushed their lead to 17-1 to end the half.
The Bruins controlled possession for most of the second half. Five minutes into the third quarter, Thayer capitalized on a free position attempt, scoring her sixth goal of the season. Abraham scored her third of the game and the final goal of the third quarter for the Bruins. Heading into the fourth quarter, Fox led 19-1. Davis and
Ana Flores would score, pushing the lead to 20 late in the fourth quarter. With just over two minutes to play, Bluhm caused a turnover that led the Bruins on attack. Senior
Payton Bergren celebrated senior day with a goal, capping off the Bruins 22-1 win.
Top Performances
Lana Davis led the Bruins offensively, scoring five goals and dishing out two assists.
Marena Tharpe continued to score goals; the Senior netted four on the day.
Olivia Geyling had a well-rounded performance with three goals, four assists, one ground ball, and one draw control. Freshman
Claire Abraham recorded a career high three goals.
Defensively,
Sasha Thayer had five ground balls, and four caused turnovers while adding a goal and assist.
Ava Bluhm picked up three ground balls, caused two turnovers, and secured four draw controls.
What It Means
Fox improved to 13-3 (11-0 NWC), while the Loggers ended their season at 3-13 (2-10 NWC).
