WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- The George Fox women's golf team rounded out the second NWC event of the year with a solid day two, winning their eighth straight Spring Classic with a team score of 587 (+19).
Top PerformersÂ
Alison Takamiya finished as the medalist for the Bruins, earning the win with a day two effort of 71 (-1). The senior had an early bogey but recovered wonderfully by finishing with two birdies and no bogeys over the final 15 holes. Takamiya ended with a 142 (-2) overall.
Finishing in second was
Makensie Toole, who shot a 74 (+2) on day two. Toole had a birdie on hole seven and ended with eight pars in nine holes, including six straight to end with a 147 (+3) overall.
Liana Brown was next up, shooting a 76 (+4) on day two to end in a tie with Toole in second. Brown had two birdies in four holes, ending with three overall as she ended with a 147 (+3)
Ainsley Carter had a solid day in her second round, shooting a 74 (+2) on day two. Carter started with seven straight pars, before beginning her back nine with seven more pars, ultimately shooting a 190 (+6).
Rounding out the Bruins was
Samara D'Silva, who shot an 81 (+9) on her second day. D'Silva had a solid stretch to start her back nine with five straight pars, ending her tournament with a 194 (+10).
As a team, the Bruins shot a 295 (+7) to outpace Whitman by over 20 strokes, ending on top yet again.
What Comes Next
The Bruins will have a week off before the NWC Championship on April 20-21.
