TACOMA, Wash. -- Due to a stellar defensive performance, the George Fox women's soccer fell in a close game, 1-0, to an aggressive Pacific Lutheran team.
How It Happened
The Lutes start the game strong, earning their first goal in the 15th minute of the half. The Bruins didn't let this early lead deter them.
Isabelle Carrington took advantage of her opportunity against a strong defense; taking a shot that just missed to the right of the goal. Also taking advantage of an opening,
Makena Speer took a shot on the goal, but couldn't find the back of the net.
George Fox was outshot by Pacific Lutheran, 7-2, in the first half, but managed to keep the Lutes within reach, with the score still 1-0.
Grace Bach attempts a shot for the Bruins for an aggressive start to the second half. Goalie
Emily Robey remained steady while being bombarded by the Lutes, saving two back-to-back shots within ten seconds of each other to hold Pacific Lutheran, 1-0, in the 62nd minute. The Bruins couldn't manage to break the Lute defense in the second half; the score remained 1-0 at the final buzzer.
