Fox Closes Weekend with 6–1 Win Over Pacific, Claiming Spot in NWC Tournament

FOREST GROVE, Ore. — After a successful Senior Day in Newberg, the Bruins finalized their regular season with a commanding 6–1 performance against Pacific, giving them the head-to-head victory needed to claim a spot in the Northwest Conference Tournament.

How it Happened
Riley Bobkiewicz and Shanah Denham handled their match with a 6–2 win, clinching the doubles point for the Bruins, while Sophie Denham and Juhree Kizziar followed with a 6–4 victory on Court No. 2 to complete the doubles sweep over the Boxers. Nicole Schnurbusch and Audrey Gardner earned their win via withdrawal on Court No. 3.

In singles, Schnurbusch picked up the first point for the Bruins due to another withdrawal on Court No. 6 before Kizziar secured the first completed singles match with a 6–2, 6–2 win on Court No. 4.

Gardner won on Court No. 5 after sweeping the first set 6–0 and controlling the second in a 6–2 victory, giving the Bruins the match-clinching point.

In the fourth singles match for George Fox, Shanah Denham posted a pair of 6–3 wins on Court No. 2, followed by another strong performance from Bobkiewicz, who battled through a tight 7–6 first set before closing out the second 6–2 in decisive fashion.

The final match of the day featured senior Sophie Denham on Court No. 3, who dropped the first set 6–2 before nearly mounting a comeback and tying it 5–5, eventually falling 7–5.
