FOREST GROVE, Ore. — After a successful Senior Day in Newberg, the Bruins finalized their regular season with a commanding 6–1 performance against Pacific, giving them the head-to-head victory needed to claim a spot in the Northwest Conference Tournament.
How it Happened
Riley Bobkiewicz and
Shanah Denham handled their match with a 6–2 win, clinching the doubles point for the Bruins, while
Sophie Denham and
Juhree Kizziar followed with a 6–4 victory on Court No. 2 to complete the doubles sweep over the Boxers.
Nicole Schnurbusch and
Audrey Gardner earned their win via withdrawal on Court No. 3.
In singles, Schnurbusch picked up the first point for the Bruins due to another withdrawal on Court No. 6 before Kizziar secured the first completed singles match with a 6–2, 6–2 win on Court No. 4.
Gardner won on Court No. 5 after sweeping the first set 6–0 and controlling the second in a 6–2 victory, giving the Bruins the match-clinching point.
In the fourth singles match for George Fox,
Shanah Denham posted a pair of 6–3 wins on Court No. 2, followed by another strong performance from Bobkiewicz, who battled through a tight 7–6 first set before closing out the second 6–2 in decisive fashion.
The final match of the day featured senior
Sophie Denham on Court No. 3, who dropped the first set 6–2 before nearly mounting a comeback and tying it 5–5, eventually falling 7–5.
What it Means
With today's win, the Bruins finish the season 10–9 overall and 8–6 in the Northwest Conference, earning the No. 4 spot in the conference standings. Pacific sits at 7–11 overall and 7–7 in conference play.

George Fox women's tennis will now head to the Northwest Conference Tournament, hosted by Whitman in Walla Walla. The first match day is set for April 18.
