HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Northwest Conference office announced its All-NWC teams and major awards, with two Bruins earning First Team honors.
Zach Moore and
Aiden Cruz were selected as one of three First Team doubles duos, while Moore was also named one of six First Team singles players.
As doubles partners, Moore and Cruz competed in 13 of George Fox's 18 matches this season, posting a 7–6 overall record and a 6–3 mark in conference play, while playing all but two matches on the No. 1 court. The duo won three of their final four matches and recorded victories over one nationally ranked opponent and two regionally ranked teams—two of which also featured First Team All-NWC doubles players. Cruz was the only freshman named to the First Team doubles roster this season.
Moore finished the year ranked No. 11 in the ITA West Region, winning 14 of his 18 singles matches—two more than last season—including a 12–2 record against Northwest Conference opponents, all on the No. 1 court. This marks the second consecutive year Moore has earned First Team singles honors. George Fox has now had at least one player named to First Team singles and/or doubles in each of the past five seasons (since 2021).
During his junior campaign, Moore defeated the No. 10 player in the nation and the No. 17 player in the West Region. The Turner, Oregon native closed his season on a six-match winning streak.Moore concluded his season with two Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week selections and a nomination for the George Fox Male Student-Athlete of the Year award.
The Bruins secured a playoff spot thanks in part to the efforts of Moore and Cruz and will compete in the Northwest Conference Tournament on April 19. The team will travel to Walla Walla, Washington, to face No. 1 Whitman at 10:00 a.m. in the conference semifinals. The winner will advance to the championship match on Sunday with a chance to earn an NCAA Tournament berth.
