Adam Haldorson coached for 12 years at George Fox University, serving as the Associate Head Track and Field Coach and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. In the fall of 2022, Calvin hired Haldorson away from the Bruins' staff and gave him the head coach role for the Knights' track and field program.
Haldorson’s main coaching responsibilities included sprints, hurdles, and the high jump while assisting head coach John Smith in day-to-day activities and the combined events. He also served as meet director for all home events during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Since taking over those events in the 2012 season, Haldorson helped produce three national champions, 26 All-Americans, 22 Academic-All-Americans, 40 Northwest Conference Champions, 76 All-NWC athletes, and 47 national qualifiers.
During his time at George Fox, Haldorson coached athletes to 41 new marks in the outdoor track & field top-10 all-time list and 39 new marks in the indoor track & field top-10 all-time list. He has also coached a combined 12 George Fox record-holders (four outdoor, eight indoor).
He helped the Bruins achieve 13 NWC Championships (seven women, four men). He has also earned two National Women's Assistant Coach of the Year awards — the only individual to garner the honor in back-to-back years — and 13 Regional Assistant Coach of the Year Awards (nine women, four men).
Outside of his coaching responsibilities for the track program, Haldorson also served teh department as a certified strength and condition specialist through the NSCA. As a strength and conditioning coach Haldorson worked with 15 programs at GFU. He also taught select courses in the Health and Human Performances Department.
Haldorson graduated from George Fox in 2009 with a degree in history and went on to earn his M.A. in teaching in 2011.
