Katie James joins the Bruins' coaching staff as a volunteer in 2021-22 working with the 400m sprint group. James was a member of the Bruins' first NCAA Championship team in 2018 and earned an All-American honor as a member of the 4x400m relay in 2019 at the outdoor national championship meet. A four-year decorated Bruin with multiple All-NWC and All-Region accolades as well, James appears 12 times in the Bruins' indoor and outdoor Top 10 performances lists.

James graduated in 2021 with dual bachelor's degrees in mathematics and computer science.
