Kyra Candanoza joined the women’s lacrosse team as an assistant coach in Spring 2026. Formerly known as Kyra Barnes, she was a standout midfielder for the Bruins from 2020–2023.

A native of Boulder, Colorado, Candanoza earned First Team All-NWC honors three times and was a two-time IWLCA All-Region selection. Over her four-year career, she started all 54 games in which she appeared, recording 143 goals and 97 assists.

Candanoza ranks among the top five in program history in career points, assists, and draw controls, while also holding multiple additional single-season and career records and achievements.

Following her playing career, she served as a high school lacrosse coach with Lacrosse Northwest. She also earned her degree in Management & Policy from the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health.
