Brooke Alteneder enters the George Fox women’s soccer program as the fifth head coach starting February 2026 after leading the Corban women’s soccer program as head coach.
Alteneder began her career as a goalkeeper for the Bruins, playing two seasons before transferring to the University of Idaho. While with the Vandals, she earned a Big Sky All-Academic distinction and ultimately graduated with a degree in criminology.
During her time at GFU, Alteneder played in 20 games, recording five shutouts in 20 career appearances. Through her two seasons with the Bruins, she became the program record holder for save percentage with 89% on 90 shots faced. She is second in program history with a 0.59 goals-against average (GAA) in over 1,500 minutes played.
Upon graduating from the University of Idaho, Alteneder became the facility manager for ÍA Akranes FC in Iceland, where she also began her professional playing career. Over the next year and a half, she was a League Cup C champion in 2022 and a Deild Club runner-up in 2023 while acting as an assistant coach for a professional academy team in Iceland.
She then played an additional season for Portuguese club Ovarense before returning to Oregon to serve as the athletic director for Salem Academy Christian Schools, serving as the primary oversight of all athletic operations for both middle and high school teams offered by the academy while also serving as both the varsity and junior varsity boys’ soccer head coach.
While serving as athletic director, Alteneder also took on the role of assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for Westside Metros, a semi-professional Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) team. The Metros went on to win the 2023 Franchise of the Year after securing both a NW Conference Championship and a WPSL National Tournament appearance. In 2024, she received her master’s in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University.
In the spring of 2025, Alteneder stepped into the role of head coach for the Corban University women’s soccer program as one of the youngest head coaches in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, leading the Warriors to a 5–12 record.
Outside of soccer, Alteneder volunteers for Blankets4Brave Hearts, an organization she founded in 2012 to make and distribute blankets to different companies, hospitals, and clinics in order to bring joy to those in difficult times of their lives.
Brooke resides in Newberg, Ore., with her husband Cole.
