Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Led by the combined
total of 21 kills from Stephanie Kerr and Erin Campbell, the
visiting George Fox University Bruins picked up their first
Northwest Conference women's volleyball victory of the season
with a 3-0 win over the Whitman College Missionaries Saturday
evening here at the Sherwood Center.
As a team, George Fox posted its best hitting percentage of the
season in the 25-14, 25-23, 25-21 sweep. The Bruins made 46
kills and only 19 errors in 106 attempts for a .255 mark, with four

The Bruins hit .429 as a team while holding the Missionaries to
a .042 percentage in rolling to a big win in the first set, in
which they never trailed. The Bruins were steady throughout,
never putting together a rally longer than four points but
gradually pulling away. Their largest lead was the final
margin.
Whitman jumped to an 11-7 lead in the second set, but George Fox
countered with six straight points, five of them behind the serves
of setter Mackenzie Teigen, for a 13-11
edge. The Missionaries battled back and built a 22-18 lead on
a kill by Jazmin Moledina, but the Bruins recovered to notch seven
of the next eight points to take the set. Teigen served five
more winning points in the rally, and two kills each by Kerr and
Tiffany Burk did the major offensive damage.
George Fox bolted to a 7-2 lead in the third set, two kills and
a block by Kylee Adderson alongside Kerr leading the way.
Whitman struck back behind two kills by Moledina and one each by
Courtney Brewer, Maddy Bell, Rachel Shober and Megan Bafus to take
a 12-11 lead. After ties at 16-16 and 20-20, Kerr tallied her
final two kills to spark a four-point run before Campbell hit the
match-clinching winner.
Kerr had 11 kills and Campbell 10 to pace the Bruins, with .400+
hitters including Patti Reeves (.600, three kills, no errors, five
attempts), Adderson (.600, 4-1-5), Kerr (.421, 11-3-19), and Cassie
Irwin (.417, 7-2-12). Teigen handed out 24 assists and
Chelsea Wilson had 10. The Bruins also got 13 digs from Reeves and
12 more from Campbell in fashioning a 45-34 margin in that
department.
Moledina was the only Missionary in double-figure kills with
10. Taylor Aschenbrenner distributed 25 assists, while Annie
Sing led the defense with 10 digs. Bafus had six block
assists and Olivia Nielson four in the Missionaries' 11 team

leaders from last year, Jillian Davis and Carrie Cecil, who are
both out with injuries.
