25 kills and 24 digs, leading the George Fox University Bruins
offensively and defensively to a 3-1 win (25-16, 17-25, 25-15,
25-18) over the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers in Northwest
Conference women's volleyball Wednesday night here at the
Pamplin Sports Center.
In the first set, Kateleya Milan had kills for the first two
points for the Pios, but the Bruins bounced back with five
straight, Cassie Irwin collecting two kills in that run. The
set stayed tight at 7-7, 8-8, 9-9, and 10-10 before the Bruins took
the lead for good on a kill by Capron, and extended it to 22-13
with a 12-3 outburst. Capron had two kills and served four

more than a two-point lead, until the Pios scored six unanswered
points to extend a slim 12-11 advantage to a more comfortable 18-11

only briefly, at 0-1 and 1-2, before Chelsea Wilson served six
winning points in a row, Campbell collecting three kills in that
stretch, to take an 11-4 lead. The Pios got no closer than
five points the rest of the set, and Capron closed it out with a
spike.
In the final stanza, the Bruins broke a 7-7 tie on a Pioneer
service error and led the remainder of the match. L&C was
still within striking distance, down only three at 17-14, when a
