head coach Cory Hand, George Fox University ran into a powerful
Corban University team that controlled the game at both ends of the
field, resulting in a 6-0 win for the Warriors of the NAIA over the
visiting Bruins in a non-conference women's soccer match
Monday afternoon here at Warrior Field.
The Warriors got on the scoreboard in the 30th minute when
Allyson Irwin received a pass from Emily Boudreau and sent it into
the upper right corner of the net for her first goal of the season
and the eventual game-winner. Ten minutes later, Karissa
Stark rebounded her own shot past a diving Alyssa Montero to make
it 2-0 at the half on her first goal of the year.
Tera McDonough scored a pair of goals two minutes apart early in
the second half as the Warriors extended the margin to 4-0.
Audrey Sullivan and Katelyn Weaver assisted on the goals.
Weaver and Maria Dominguez closed out the scoring by tallying their
first goals of the season in the final 10 minutes of the
game. Sullivan and Sierra Brusven assisted on Weaver's
goal, and Randi Donahue contributed to the score by Dominguez.
Montero kept the Bruins within striking distance in the first
half by making nine saves, but the Warriors pulled away in the
second half against rookie keeper Morgan Hansen, who did have two
saves.

the Bruins, one from Becca Allen and one from Jasmine Florez, and
