Box Score FOREST GROVE, Ore. --- George Fox University's women's volleyball traveled to Pacific University, where the Bruins took down the Boxers in a four-set match.
The Bruins (3-16, 2-7 NWC) defeated the Boxers (5-12, 1-8 NWC) 25-20, 30-28, 20-25, 25-20.
George Fox got off to a strong start after stringing together two late rally's in the first and second set, but fell in the third after the Boxers made a late comeback. The Bruins gained momentum in the fourth set and held off the Boxers to take the match.
The Bruins hit a .153 team percentage and were led by Erin Sprowls, Erin Campbell, and Kylee Adderson, who all had double-digit kills. Sprowls was the kill leader with 16 and she hit .271 on the night. Campbell recorded 11 kills, while Adderson had 10.
The blocking power was the huge factor on the night, as the Bruins out-blocked the Boxers, 11-5. Adderson totaled seven block assists on the night.
Payton Shrum finished the night with 45 assists.
This was the second time on the season that the Bruins beat the Boxers, and both matches went to four sets.
The Bruins will play Linfield College tomorrow night on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7:00 p.m.
