Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- George Fox University's women's soccer team honored two of its seniors Sunday afternoon, as the Bruins acknowledged Haley Downey and Cassidy Skillings before taking on Puget Sound in a conference match-up.
Both Downey and Skillings have been a part of the George Fox women's soccer program for the last four years. Downey recorded 63 games played under her belt, while she started in 43 of them. Skillings partook in 72 games, while starting in 61 of them.
The Bruins played extremely solid defense in the first half holding the top team in the NWC standings scoreless. Ally Swanson was dynamite in the net saving everything that the Loggers fired at here.
The score was tied 0-0 going into the half.
The Loggers opened up the scoring in the second half, as they recorded four goals. Their first came in the 49th minute and the second followed in the 57th. They tallied one more in the 72nd and finished the game with a goal in the 87th minute.
Swanson finished the game with seven saves.
The Bruins will finish their season on the road taking on Linfield on Nov. 1, Pacific on Nov. 2, Whitman on Nov. 7 and Whitworth on Nov. 8 for the last game of the year.
