Box Score The George Fox University Bruins traveled to Salem this evening for their first game on the road and conference game of the season. Hundreds of Bruin fans traveled with the team to cheer them on during their game against the undefeated Willamette University Bearcats who won by a score of 38-6.
The Bruins defense shown in the first half holding the Bearcats to just seven points and 127 total yards. Jesse Bresser and Spencer Price led the Bruins with twelve and eleven tackles in the game respectively. Quarterback, Grant Schroeder, completed 15 passes in the game for 170 yards and running back, John Shaffer, impressed by breaking four tackles on his way to a 15 yard run for the Bruins to open the second half.
The Wildcats took command in the fourth quarter with three rushing touchdowns. The Bruins next game will be held on the road against Linfield College, their Yamhill County rival. Tickets can be purchased in advance via the Linfield website.
