PUYALLUP, Wash. --- George Fox University's football team closed its season Saturday afternoon, as the Bruins fell to the Lutes of Pacific Lutheran, 49-7.

The Bruins (1-8, 1-6 NWC) entered Saturday's contest after defeating Lewis & Clark College last week 30-12. John Shaffer led the Bruins offensive attack running for 100 yards on 15 carries. He also managed to score the lone touchdown for the Bruins.

The Lutes (7-2, 5-2 NWC) were led by Niko Madison, who ran for 162 yards on 23 carries and recorded two touchdowns. Kyle Warner controlled the offensive attack for the Lutes completing 14 passes on 21 attempts for 143 yards and a touchdown.

Tell Cruickshank and Charles Riga managed a combined 11 tackles on the day.
