Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- George Fox University's women's volleyball team honored two of its seniors Saturday night, as the Bruins hosted Whitman College in their final game of the season.
The Bruins honored Erin Campbell and Kylee Adderson before the game and the two seniors went out with a bang. Campbell finished the match with 17 kills and 16 digs, while Adderson totaled 10 kills and four blocks.
The opening set was led by the Bruins until the Missionaries came storming back to take the first set, 25-20. The Bruins out-hit the Missionaries .278 to .237.
The Bruins trailed early in the second set, but a late comeback would give the Bruins the edge and tie the score up at 23-23. GFU finished the match out-scoring the Missionaries 3-1 to take the second set, 26-24. The Bruins continued their hot hitting in the second firing off a .308, while Whitman recorded a .297.
Whitman closed out the match taking the third and fourth sets in a 25-13 and 25-21 victory.
The Bruins (4-22, 3-13 NWC) fell to the Missionaries (11-14, 7-9 NWC), 22-25, 26-24, 13-25, 21-25.
George Fox finished the match hitting .176, while Whitman hit .226.
Campbell finished out here career at GFU with 985 kills, 85 aces, 106 blocks and 945 digs. She played in over 337 sets in her four years. Adderson closed out her Bruin career playing in 320 sets and has accumulated 489 kills, 213 blocks, 59 aces, 158 digs.
