Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- A crowd of nearly 200 people piled in to the Austin Sports Complex Sunday afternoon, as the Bruins hosted its second conference match-up against Linfield College.
The Bruins (0-4-2, 0-2 NWC) had a physical match as both teams combined for 28 fouls. Ally Swanson had an amazing day in the net recording a season high 16 saves. The Wildcats (5-1, 2-1 NWC) held possession for most of the game, but couldn't get past Swanson.
Swanson took on 15 shots in the first period and recorded nine saves to have both teams go into the half tied at nil-nil.
The game was opened up after a free kick was drawn by the Wildcats and Emma Vukic delivered a ball into the box that found Emily Fellows head for the go-ahead goal in the 75th minute.
Swanson finished the second half with seven saves. Kenna Meinhart led the Bruins with three shots and two on goal.
The Bruins will take to the road next week and take on Puget Sound on Sept. 27 and Pacific Lutheran on Sept. 28.
