TACOMA, Wash. --- The No. 5-ranked George Fox women's basketball team went head-to-head with No. 22-ranked Puget Sound in a come from behind 77-73 victory at Memorial Field House.

The last time these two team met, the Bruins befuddled the Loggers in a 22-point blowout, 77-55.

Tonight would be a little different for the Bruins, as the Loggers used the packed home crowd and the shoulders of Amanda Forshay, who led the Loggers with 24 points.

The game was nail biting from start to finish and for just the second time this season the Bruins went into the half trailing. Although it was just by two points, 39-37, the Bruins managed to out-shoot the Loggers 48.4 percent to 44.4 percent from the field.

"I told the team at half that games like these we need to hold on to our composure and continue to battle," said head coach Michael Meek. "Coming into this game we knew that we were playing a Top 25 team on the road and we would be tested."

The Loggers pulled away from the Bruins midway through the second half, and increased their lead to double-digits after a Logger' three, 52-42.

George Fox would wait no longer and start its climb to a dramatic comeback on the shoulders of senior Jami Morris. Morris went a perfect 3-for-3 from the long ball and her biggest came at the 5:07 mark when she brought the Bruins within two, 63-61. The Bruins tied the game three minutes later after Justine Benner made a layup from a Morris assist.

Once George Fox knotted the score up the game was then secured as the Bruins finished the game on the free throw line.

Morris finished the game tying her career-high with 27 points, while scoring 18 points in the second half.  Her last 27 point game came against Pacific Lutheran on Feb. 15, 2013.

Lauren Codling recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Benner finished the game with 19 points and a team-high five steals.

"These women are just phenomenal competitors and they really care about what we are doing here as a program," said Meek. "You can see it in every game that they play that it is for each other and this university. We knew it was going to be tough and we knew that we had to fight to the end, but these kids have a ton of heart. There is no give up in any one of the women on this team."

The Bruins continue their undefeated season and improve to 18-0 and 9-0 in the NWC.

The Bruins will have a quick turnaround as they will host Linfield tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m. on Pink Zone day.
