Bruins Host High-Powered Bearcats

NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's soccer team hosted the top team in the Northwest Conference standings, as Willamette University came to town and beat the Bruins, 3-0.

Recap:
The Bruins held off the high-powered offense of the Bearcats for quite some time, but Kelsey Walker opened up the scoring in the 29th minute when she snuck one by Morgan Bars. The Bruins managed to fire off three shots before the half, but all were just off frame. Walker scored her second of the match in the 55th minute and Emmy Manset bounced one off the post in the 66th minute to record the final goal of the match.

Top Performers:
As a team, the Bruins fired off seven shots on the day with Kacie Morgan leading the team with two. Bars finished her day with seven saves between the sticks.

What It Means:
The Bearcats recorded their fourth straight win, and still stand alone at the top of the NWC standings. This is the fourth game that the Bearcats have played where they kept a team scoreless. The Bruins stand at 3-5-2 on the season and 1-4-1 in the NWC.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will play twice next week. Their first game comes on the road against Puget Sound on October 10, and the second at home against Linfield on October 11.
