SALEM, Ore. --- The Bruins were the first to get on the board in Saturday's match, but the Bearcats of Willamette University battled back and took the victory with a 2-1 win.
Recap:
Brette Dodson was the goal scorer for the Bruins on the day, as she found the back of the net off a free kick in the 19th minute. This was Dodson's second goal of the season. The Bruins went into the half up, 1-0. The Bearcats put the equalizer in the back of the net in the 49th minute when Karmen Chavez Sam hit a long shot outside of the box just above the outstretched arms of Kelsey Kammerzell.
The game-winner for the Bearcats came in the 58th minute when Marley Duncan assisted Emmy Manset in her second goal of the season. The shot came just 2-yards from the net in the bottom right corner.
Top Performers:
George Fox tallied four shots on the day with Michelle Young, Sarah Tuemmler, Maci Jokumsen and Dodson all firing shots off. Kammerzell played all 90 minutes between the sticks and recorded two saves.
What Comes Next:
The Bruins (5-11-2, 3-10-1 NWC) will play their final home game of the season next Saturday on Nov. 7 at 11:00 a.m. The Bruins will honor their seniors on that day.
