PORTLAND, Ore. --- The George Fox women's volleyball team traveled up to Portland Tuesday night, as the Bruins competed against Warner Pacific in a non-conference match-up. The Bruins fell 22-25, 19-25, 19-25.
Recap:
The Bruins got off to a great start in the first set, taking a 6-2 lead early on, but the Knights battled back, and tied the set up at 8-8. Warner Pacific scored five-straight points in the middle of the set to cause some separation from the Bruins, but the Bruins rallied back to bring the score within one, 20-21. The Bruins fell by just three points in the opening set, as the Knights were able to close it out. The second set proved to be in favor of the Knights, as they jumped out to a 15-11 lead. George Fox clawed back into the set, but it was too little too late as the Knights finished with four-straight points to take the 25-19 advantage. The third and final set showed home court advantage for the Knights, as the Bruins fell to a 17-8 deficit. George Fox showed resilience and perseverance in the third set, but the Knights proved to be too tough.
Top Performers:
Freshman Danyle Dupray recorded a career best .462 hitting percentage with seven kills on 13 attempts and one error. Payton Shrum tallied 18 assists on the night and moved into sixth on the All-Time Career Leaders in assists with 2,687.

The Bruins get back on track this Friday, October 9 when they continue conference play against Pacific (Ore.) in Forest Grove, Oregon at 7:00 p.m.
