NEWBERG, Ore. --- It was a night that the women's volleyball team will remember for years to come, as the Bruins swept Linfield in a three-set match on senior night.

Recap:
After trailing 21-10 in the opening set, the Bruins used a rally of eight-straight points to bring them within three, 18-21. The battle continued as they knotted up the score at 24-24 and 25-25 before taking the first set on a huge kill by Cassidy Scott, 27-25.

With newfound momentum, the Bruins jumped out to a 13-8 lead in the second set. The 'Cats scratched back to tie up the set at 13-13, but another five-straight points by the Bruins gave them enough speed to keep the throttle down on the 'Cats. George Fox went on to win the second set, 25-19.

In the third and final set of the match, the Bruins went back-and-forth with the 'Cats in the opening points. It wasn't until the 13-10 mark that George Fox solidified its presence in the set. The 'Cats wouldn't go down without a fight, though, as they tied up the set at 24-24. Delaney Cruz gave the crowd what they wanted with a monster kill, and an unforced error by the 'Cats on the next play gave the Bruins a 26-24 victory.

Top Performers:
Senior Payton Shrum was honored before the game, as she played in her last match of her career as a Bruin. She finished her night with 32 assists, 11 digs and three blocks. She also recorded two kills and hit .667. In her four years as a starter for the Bruins, she finishes as fourth all-time in the George Fox record books with 3,009 assists. Erin Sprowls led the Bruins with 12 kills and hit .206 on the night. The Bruins out-blocked the 'Cats 11-4 as a team.

What It Means:
The Bruins end their season on a high note and finish 8-16 overall and 5-11 in the Northwest Conference.
