Box Score FOREST GROVE, Ore. --- The Bruins headed to Forest Grove on Saturday to play in a wet and physical game against the Boxers of Pacific University. Although the Bruins jumped out to an early lead, the Boxers were able to claw back and take a 34-20 victory.
Recap:
The Bruins were the first to get on the board in the first quarter after quarterback Grant Schroeder used his feet instead of his arm to get in the end zone with a 5-yard touchdown run. Four minutes later, the Bruins were in the zone again, but this time it was Schroeder's arm finding Brad Lander for a 37-yard touchdown pass. The Boxers cut the lead with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Warner Shaw to Nathan Suyematsu to end the first quarter. Pacific used two field goals to tie of the game at 13-13. The Boxers scored another touchdown before the end of the half to go into the break with a 20-13 advantage.
George Fox wasted no time in the second half with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Daniels to bring the game even at 20 apiece. The Boxers ended the game with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal their victory.
Top Performers:
Schroeder completed 23 passes on 39 attempts with 231 yards and two touchdowns. That brings his total to 17 touchdowns on the season, which is tied for third in the Northwest Conference. John Shaffer caught seven passes on 58 yards and carried the ball 19 times for 62 yards. Steven Lindstrom and Jesse Bresser both led the defensive side of the ball with 12 total tackles.
What It Means:
The Bruins now stand at 3-6 overall and 1-5 in the NWC. The Boxers improve to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

The Bruins end their 2015 season next Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. against Willamette.
